Easy Christmas Sweet Recipes

Chocolate Walnut Fudge
Chocolate walnut fudge is often made for Christmas and Easter. In this recipe walnut is used, as a substitute you can use almonds or pecans.

Ingredients
800 g of sweetened condensed Milk
400 g of Creamed Milk
100 g of Butter
2 cups Sugar
1 cup Dark Chocolate Chips
1 cup Cocoa Powder
1 cup chopped Walnut

Preparation
  • Mix all the ingredients expect the walnut into a wide, thick-bottomed pan.
  • Heat it on a medium flame.
  • Stir frequently, till the mixture becomes thick and fudge like and begins to leave the sides of the pan.
  • Turn off the stove. Add the walnuts and mix well.
  • Grease the plate with butter and spread the thick layer of fudge onto the plate with a flat spoon
  • Leave it for some time and while still warm cut into shapes of your choice.
  • Cool it and place in airtight container.
Christmas Fruit Cake
Cake is very essential part of the Christmas. Here is the easy recipe for the Christmas fruitcake.

Ingredients
  • 3 cups Butter
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 cups raisins
  • 1 cup cherries
  • 5 eggs beaten well
  • 1/3 cup almonds finely chopped
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1tsp cardamom powder
  • 2 cups Brown Sugar
  • 2 cups Maida
  • 3 cups Currants
  • 1/3 cup Almond powder
  • 1 tsp Nutmeg powder
  • 1 cup Mixed chopped candied peel
  • Grated skin and juice of one lemon
Preparation
  • Beat sugar and butter together till it becomes soft and light cream.
  • Add beaten eggs gradually.
  • Pore over Maida, nutmeg, cardamom, almond, and baking powders together and add gently to butter mixture.
  • Add dry fruits slowly to the mixture.
  • Add almonds, lemon peel, and juice.
  • Place this mixture in a cake tin. Bake for 1 hour on high and then for 2 hours in a medium oven.
Christmas Pudding
Christmas is not complete without a Christmas pudding. The Christmas pudding is always made well in advance to allow it to settle.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup pearl barley
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 pound raisins
  • Ground cinnamon to taste
  • Cold water
  • Ground cinnamon and chopped almonds for garnish
Preparation
  • Wash the barley and place into a thick bottomed pan, add 4 cups of water and cover it
  • Bring to boil and then turn off the stove
  • Allow the barley to hydrate. Boil the barley again for about two hours until it becomes soft.
  • Add ground cinnamon and sugar and cook further for about 10 minutes.
  • Add raisins and cook for another 10 minutes.
  • Pour into the bowl and place in the refrigerator to settle.
  • Serve with rosewater or raspberry jam.
