Christmas Eve is the name given to December 24, the day before the Christmas holiday. As per the Western Christian Churches, the Christmas season is supposed to begin on the Christmas Eve itself. The late afternoon or early evening of December 24 is reserved for saying the 'Mass of the Vigil'. The Christmas season comes to an end on the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, which is celebrated on the Sunday following the Solemnity of the Epiphany.
Most Catholics, following the old traditions, celebrate the midnight
Mass at midnight on Christmas. Christmas Eve has today gained almost the
same level of importance as the holiday itself. Christmas celebrations
start on the eve of Christmas itself. In the following lines, we have
provided some ideas for celebrating the Eve of Christmas.

Most of the people spend their Christmas Eve attending one party or the
other. They party till the wee hours of the night and spend their time
dancing to foot tapping numbers. However, it is not necessary that you
also do what others are doing. You can spend a quiet Christmas Eve at
your home, along with all your near and dear ones. Just make a delicious
meal, rent a few DVDs and spend the night surrounded by those things and
people that make your life complete.
Christmas Eve Party

the members of the family, along with close friends and relatives,
gather for the party to welcome the most significant day of the year,
i.e., Christmas. Different countries have different traditions as far as

forms a major part of the meal, while in Czech Republic, it is the fish
soup that is more essential.
