Christmas Carols For Kids

Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer
It was on request of a departmental store, Robert May composed a poem called Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. The poem was given away to children by the Santa Claus employed by the departmental store. Who thought that the poem would be a massive success and become a popular Christmas song!

Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Had a very shiny nose,
And if you ever saw it,
You could even say it glows.

All of the other reindeers
Used to laugh and call him names;
They never let poor Rudolph
Join in any reindeer games.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve,
Santa came to say:
Rudolph with your nose so bright,
Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?

Then how the reindeer loved him
As they shouted out with glee,
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,
You'll go down in history.

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
In 1932, J. Fred Coots and Haven Gillespie wrote lyrics of this song. However, it was only in 1934, near Thanksgiving that it was aired on a radio show. The song was an instant hit with orders for 100,000 copies of sheet music coming the next day and over 400,000 copies being sold by Christmas. Since then, there have been many recordings of "Santa Claus is Coming to town" and is known as one of the popular Christmas song.

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
You better watch out
You better not cry
Better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town

He's making a list
And checking it twice;
Going to find out who's naughty and nice
Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake! Oh!

You better watch out!
You better not cry
Better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town!

I'm Getting Nuttin' For Christmas
Written by Sid Tepper, Roy C. Bennett, it's a popular Christmas song ! The song talks about child's disappointment for not getting a gift on Christmas as he has been up to mischief the whole year.

I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas
Mommy and Daddy are mad.
I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas
'Cause I ain't been nuttin' but bad.

I broke my bat on Johnny's head;
Somebody snitched on me.
I hid a frog in sister's bed;
Somebody snitched on me.

I spilled some ink on Mommy's rug;
I made Tommy eat a bug;
Bought some gum with a penny slug;
Somebody snitched on me.

CHORUS
Oh, I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas
Mommy and Daddy are mad.
I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas
'Cause I ain't been nuttin' but bad.

I put a tack on teacher's chair;
Somebody snitched on me.
I tied a knot in Suzy's hair;
Somebody snitched on me.
I did a dance on Mommy's plant.
Climbed a tree and tore my pants.
Filled that sugar bowl with ants;
Somebody snitched on me.

CHORUS
Oh, I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas
Mommy and Daddy are mad.
I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas
'Cause I ain't been nuttin' but bad.

So you better be good whatever you do
'Cause if you're bad, I'm warning you,
You'll get nuttin' for Christmas.
