Common Christmas Games

Christmas is approaching and you have not yet thought of the games to be included in it? No need to panic. We bring you some common Christmas games which can very well blend into the theme of your party. These games are the conventional Christmas games which have been played for ages but still retain its zeal and popularity. These are so much a part of the Christmas party today that these are almost indispensable. We have introduced some novelty in the games with a view to make it more interesting. The games are simple yet highly appealing and can be played by people of all age groups.

General Christmas Games

Pass The Stocking

Things Required
  • Stocking
  • Christmas related objects – candies, star, Christmas tree craft, bells, bird house, North Pole, candle, place card holder, Santa Claus dummy and the likes.
  • Red color ribbon
Procedure
  • Take a large stocking. Fill it with the Christmas materials as stated above. Tie the open end with ribbon.
  • Make your guests to sit in a circle. The first person gets the stocking. He has to touch the things from outside and guess what it could be.
  • He has to write the guessed things on the paper. Allot specific time for each of the participant which can range from 2-3 minutes.
  • Then he passes the stocking to the person next to him and he repeats the same process. The game continues till the last person writes his note.
  • Collect the notes from each of the participant. Untie the ribbon and take out the stuffs one by one and show it to your guests. You can see your guests making funny expressions on discovering that they have missed the simplest things.
  • Read out each of the notes and share some of the wildest guesses which will spread laughter among the guests. Give score to each of the notes. The person who get the maximum guesses right is the winner of the game.
Pin the Board

Things Required
  • Notice Board
  • Paper
  • Scissor
  • Pin
Procedure
  • Take paper sheets and cut into equal rectangles. The number of cards, which you create, should be equal to the total number of your guests. Write one trivia question on each of the pieces. Frame some interesting questions, which are tricky as well as entertaining.  
  • Invert the cards and pin them on the board one by one. Make sure the questions are not visible from outside.
  • Ask your guests to come one by one and pick a card. They have to answer the question in the card and be as true as possible.
  • Judge the best answer and award accordingly.
Christmas Charades

Things Required
  • Paper
  • Scissor
  • Pen
  • Bowl
Procedure
  • Take a paper sheet and cut it into small equal pieces using a scissor.
  • Write a Christmas related word on each of the paper piece. This can be like Santa Claus, snowman, reindeer, snow, pine cones, mistletoe, sledges and others.
  • Fold the paper pieces and put them in a bowl.
  • Divide your guests into two teams. Ask one person from a team to come and pick a paper. He has to enact the word written on the paper to his team mates who has to guess the right word. He cannot utter any word and can use only gestures to communicate the word to his team.
  • The team which gets the maximum guesses right is the winner of the game.
Dress Up Santa

This is a highly entertaining game which is played among the children.

Things Required
  • Oversized suits (red color)
  • Large pants
  • Red and white balloons
  • Whistle
Procedure
  • Divide the children into two teams. Each of the team has to choose a team leader who is to be dressed as Santa.
  • Give each team suits, pants and balloons. Blow the whistle to start the game.
  • Set the stopwatch and allot four minutes to each team. With the start signal, the children need to dress their leader with the red suit and pant.
  • Then stuff as many balloons as possible inside Santa's dress taking care that the balloons don't burst.
  • Whichever team puts the maximum balloon without being burst within the allotted time is the winner of the game. The puffed up Santa is a great sight to see and enjoy
